Our History

In 1997, Eric and Norman Sugrue opened the doors to the Big Fish Grill in Rehoboth Beach, DE, their first of many successful concepts. They adopted a simple philosophy: to provide the best food, the best service and the best atmosphere to their guests with customer satisfaction their top priority.

The Big Fish Restaurant Group and each of its restaurants have been giving back to the community ever since we opened the doors of our first restaurant, the Big Fish Grill in Rehoboth Beach.

Eric Sugrue and Norman Sugrue, along with the Group’s President Holly Monaco, created the Big Fish Charitable Foundation to allow the Group and each of its restaurants to focus its time, energy, and resources on the charitable work we’re the most passionate about – Kids in Need. The success of the restaurant group and our ability to give back to the community is attributed to Eric and Norman’s mother Geneva Sugrue, whom was also a strong supporter of her children’s dreams and the community.
